Pershing Health System (PHS) is proud to announce that Dr. Christopher Main, Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon will be joining PHS Outpatient Specialty Clinic starting on September 12th. Dr. Main and his staff will be seeing patients in Brookfield at the Applegate Medical Center building on the second and fourth Monday of each month. Surgeries will be done at PHS in the Outpatient Surgery department. Appointments will be made through Midwest Bone and Joint Center in Macon at 660-385-1006.
Dr. Main is a board-certified orthopedic sports medicine and arthroscopy specialist. He is the owner and CEO of Midwest Bone and Joint Center, P.C. located in Macon, Hermann, and now Pershing Health System in Brookfield. They specialize in orthopedic and sports medicine and see patients from initial non-operative treatment options through surgery, until the completion of their rehab process.
Dr. Main is a native to Northeast Missouri, growing up in Macon, and received his medical degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He enjoys working with the sports community and has worked with numerous high schools, collegiate and professional athletes during his career. His main interests are the arthroscopic treatment of shoulder instability, biceps pathology and rotator cuff injuries, as well as arthroscopic treatment of knee meniscus and ligament tears.
In addition, Dr. Main enjoys complex shoulder and knee reconstruction including articular cartilage repair, partial and total joint replacements, and the use of cutting-edge technology such as the use of custom design implants for gender specific knee replacements, arthroscopic implants, biologic bone and cartilage transplants, and the latest materials and design for joint replacement.
Dr Main enjoys spending time with family and friends when away from work. He is very involved in area sports teams as well as his passion with the Mizzou Tigers and Kansas City Chiefs.
